Maybe I can help

Dizziness is a very common symptom, and can affect up to a third of adults in their lifetime. It increases with age, and tends to be more common in the over 60 age group. It can occur in many medical conditions. Most causes are benign, but, occasionally it can be related to serious conditions, such as stroke, m/s etc. Therefore it is advisable to consult your GP/ or specialist Physiotherapist for further advice on management of the symptoms.

Effects of Dizziness

Dizziness can be a worrying thing to experience and can have an impact on everyday life. Balance can become reduced, and patients can develop a fear of falling, and reduced confidence in everyday activities.

The good news is that a lot of dizziness and balance problems can be very easily treated. Vestibular rehabilitation is the treatment used for these conditions.

I am a chartered Vestibular Physiotherapist with over 30 years experience, and specialise in the treatment of these conditions. I am based in the Glasgow area, but I am happy to travel further to see patients in their own homes, in the central belt and beyond. I can also see patients in a clinic setting.

First visit what to expect

The first assessment can take approximately one hour. I will do a thorough assessment, taking your medical history, as well as a physical assessment, balance tests etc. Following this, I will provide you with a customised treatment programme.

I will usually follow up with a telephone consultation a week or 2 later, and further treatment can be arranged as needed. Vestibular rehab can be very effective, and many people make full recoveries from balance and dizziness conditions.

I use 2 clinics in Glasgow and can also do home visits.
